County Executive

Today Dane County Executive Parisi announced Dane Arts will hold the Dane Arts Buy Local Art Market on October 12th and 13th at Yahara Bay Distillers in Fitchburg and artists can now apply to participate. Artists chosen to participate will have the opportunity to participate in the very successful DABL night market and educational workshops. The past three year’s markets have generated over $100,000 in reported sales.

“With more than $100,000 in reported sales and commissions to date, we have proven that Dane County artists offer a unique contribution to our local economy,” said Dane County Executive Parisi.  “Dane Arts Buy Local (DABL) supports these artists by providing them opportunities to exhibit and sell their art, directly connecting artist to local businesses and business-people.”

Selected DABL Artists will have their artwork featured in the Yahara Bay gallery space for the entire month of October.

All DABL applicants will be included in the pool of candidates for the 2019 Dane Arts Poster and Calendar, and will be invited to attend the Flourish! workshops free-of-charge, regardless of being accepted to DABL 2018.  The Flourish! workshops are offered by The ArtWrite Collective and registration is open to the public.  More registration information to come.

Selected DABL artists will also be promoted on the DABL website, Dane Arts website and Dane Arts social media channels.

Dane Arts Buy Local (DABL) is a program within Dane Arts that connects local artists and businesses through a series of pop-up art markets.  DABL also includes professional development opportunities for artists. In recognition of their impact on the local economy, by combining unique vending opportunities with professional development workshops, DABL directly supports the work of Dane County artists.

Moving DABL to the Verona-Fitchburg area also fulfills our goal of broadening access for artists and businesses beyond Madison.
