Dane Arts Holds Dane Arts Buy Local Night Market

                                          Bringing Together Local Artists and Businesses

 

MADISON- Today, Dane Arts announced its first ever Dane Arts Buy Local Night Market at the US Bank Building on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4:00-9:00 p.m.  The event will connect local artists and businesses to facilitate sales and commissions of original artwork from Dane County artists.  The evening will feature 27 local artists work, a panel on the business of art featuring five Dane County business leaders, and will take place at U.S. Bank on Capitol Square. Additionally, the event will feature installation art, music, food, drink and mingling.

 

“Through Dane Arts, this first – time event  will help bridge the economic and creative impact the arts generate across arenas,” said County Executive Joe Parisi.  “The event is intended to bring together our talented, local artists and our thriving business community.   I am very excited about the future of Dane Arts and the work we hope to achieve.”

 

Dane Arts Buy Local Night Market 2015 will be held at the US Bank building, downtown. Anyone can attend by registering: www.dabl.splashthat.com.

A panel discussion on the business of art and the art of business will include:  County Executive Joe Parisi with ex-CEO/Emeritus of St. Mary’s Hospital Dr. Frank Byrne, CEO of Widen Enterprise, Matthew Gonnering, Vice President/Co-Owner KW2, Jennifer Savino,  and CFO of the Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison, Samie Chambers.

 

Below is the schedule of events for the evening:

 

4:00 -5:00 PM one on one viewing with each artist

5:00-9:00 PM open to all for artists viewing

6:30-7:30 PM panel discussion, “The Business of Art and The Art of Business”

 

“Dane Arts is pushing its effort to the forefront of the buy local movement, and we hope this event will be worthwhile, meaningful, and memorable,” said Mark Fraire, Dane Arts Director.
