The Dane County Narcotics Task Force, along with the Wisconsin Drug Enforcement Administration and the Division of Criminal Investigation, has confiscated one of the largest marijuana grows ever found in Dane County.

Four search warrants were executed on Wednesday, September 24th.  The locations included 1838 Boyd Ave., 4201 Sycamore Ave., and 4810 Retana Dr. in the City of Madison, along with 3088 Burke Rd. in the town of Sun Prairie.  All of the warrants were executed without incident and hundreds of marijuana plants were found at each location.  Those involved described it as one of the most resource-intensive and large-scale warrant executions the Task Force has undertaken.  In total, 1,124 marijuana plants were seized, along with a loaded 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Donald E. Alston, age 44 of Madison, was booked into the Dane County Jail for Maintaining a Drug Dwelling, Possession of THC with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Manufacturing THC, 4 counts.

The plants seized have a value of over one million dollars.  An enhancer was also applied to the charges, as one of the addresses was less than 1000 feet from a school.
