Prairie Moraine County Dog Park Will Be Temporarily Closed During Construction of the New Entrance
The dog park at Prairie Moraine County Park will be temporarily closed August 11-15thto allow park operations staff access to complete vegetation clearing necessary for the new parking lot and entrance that is currently under construction. Vegetation removed will consist primarily of non-native invasive species such as buckthorn, honeysuckle and multiflora rose. Removal of the vegetation will create an expanded level and open area at the entrance, and allow for better visibility and air movement. Larger, shade-providing trees will remain. The new entrance will be located at the end of Wesner Road.
Dog park patrons should consider using an alternate location, such as Badger Prairie County Park, during this time period.. The new dog park parking lot at Prairie Moraine is anticipated to be completed by early fall.
