Company’s Generosity Through Annual Fundraiser Has Raised $32,478 for Crime Response Program, more than $72,475  Total Over Three Years

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne today thanked TDS Telecom for their continued support and $32,478 donation to the Crime Response Program, a 24/7 operation run by Dane County that provides protection and support for victims and witnesses of crime.

For the third straight year, TDS has donated the proceeds of their annual golf outing to the Friends of Crime Response Fund administered through the Madison Community Foundation.  The Crime Response Fund has the honor of being the first and only group to receive a donation from proceeds raised at the golf outing.  TDS has contributed $72,475  total over three years.

“Community partnerships, such as the one the county has with TDS Telecom, are essential to delivering critical services during difficult budget times.  We can accomplish more together than we can alone,” said Parisi.  “TDS’ generosity year after year has helped ensure that victims and their families are protected and cared for in the wake of terrible incidents of crime.”

The fund goes directly to the resources provided to victims and witnesses of crime, affected community and family members, and survivors of homicide.  Historically, this support has included emergency food, gas, transportation, clothing, counseling, or lodging for individuals displaced or affected by crime or a criminal investigation.

“Crime happens at all hours not just 9 to 5.  Victims of crime should not have to wait for assistance and support until regular business hours either,” said Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne.  “For the past three years TDS has helped to ensure our community’s commitment and ability to help victims at the time they need it the most.”

The County Executive and DA Ozanne also thanked TDS Telecom President and CEO David Wittwer, and TDS staff Shane Kaatz and Lynette Resch for their efforts to make the event such a success.
