Dane County Executive Joe Parisi issued the following statement in reaction to Dane County’s selection as the host county for Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in 2015.

“It is an honor to be chosen as the host county for Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in 2015.

“Farm Technology days will be a fitting showcase for the hard-work of our farm families.  The boost that this event will provide our local economy, and to the cultivation of local leadership in agriculture, will be felt here for years to come.

“Dane County holds a deep appreciation for our robust agriculture heritage, and we are always looking for ways we can support and strengthen this vital industry.  Our farm families put food on tables across our county and across the world.  This industry employs thousands in Dane County, and contributes $3 billion annually to our local economy.

“I would like to thank the Farm Technology Days Board for putting this exciting task in our hands.  I look forward to doing all we can to make Farm Technology Days 2015 a great event.”

Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, formerly Wisconsin Farm Progress Days, showcases innovations in production agriculture with field demonstrations that have included cutting, bailing, chopping, and harvesting.  Attendees can also learn more though educational displays, hands on activities, and more than 600 exhibitors.

Considered the largest agriculture show in Wisconsin, and one of the largest in the nation, it has the potential to attract up to 60,000 attendees during the three-day event.  Pierce County hosted Technology Days in 2010 and reported a total economic impact of over $1.8 million and the creation of 33 jobs.
