Dane County Executive, Parks Commission Chair Joint Statement: Passing of Elizabeth Lewis

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and Dane County Parks Commission Chair Bill Lunney issued the following joint statement regarding the passing of Elizabeth Lewis.  Lewis was a leader on the Dane County Parks Commission for 25 years and passed away this week in Madison.

 

“Dane County has lost a visionary environmental leader with the passing of Elizabeth Lewis.

 

“Libby led the Parks Commission for more than 25 years and her decades of service made a lasting and significant mark on our county parks and natural resource areas.    

 

“Libby provided inspiration and foresight to County leadership as we moved to preserve our parks and natural resources.  Future generations will be in debt to her for her advocacy, commitment and her countless contributions.

“We are most grateful for her vision, her service, and her dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all our county’s citizens.

 

“We extend our deepest sympathies to Libby’s husband, Phil, her family, and countless friends.”
