CRYSTAL LAKE REMAINS SLOW/NO WAKE

The public is reminded that the entire surface area of Crystal Lake remains a Slow/No Wake Zone.

The Slow/No Wake Zone was created last summer through the combined action of Dane and Columbia Counties to reduce the shoreline damage that can be caused by boat wakes during periods of high water.  Lake levels have risen since the summer so that the risk posed by boat wakes has increased.

With panfish beginning to bite on Crystal Lake, boat traffic will resume shortly.  Boaters must remember that slow-no-wake speed is the minimum speed at which a motorboat can move with adequate steerage control.
