County Highway CV Bridge Work Complete, Road Re-opened

County Highway CV/Main Street in the Village of DeForest will reopen tomorrow (Friday, November 14th) now that the bridge replacement project is complete. As part of the bridge reconstruction project, new sidewalks were built on both sides of the highway. “This new bridge means safer travel for motorists in the DeForest area but also better access for bicyclists, runners, and walkers,” County Executive Kathleen Falk said. Falk also noted the project included a new storm water treatment structure to help reduce the amount of debris and dirt that runs off into the Yahara River. The nearly $650,000 project was paid for by federal highway funding along with dollars from Dane County and the Village of DeForest. Pheifer Brothers Construction of Neenah was the contractor on the project that started in early September. The original Highway CV bridge was constructed in 1919. # # #
