County to Host Free Quarterly Seminars on Business Marketing, Networking Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk announced today the county will host the second in a series of seminars intended to help women and minorities interested in starting or improving their own businesses. The business meetings are free and open to all women-owned, and minority small businesses, or individuals who are thinking about creating a business. They aim to help prospective small business owners network, learn business strategies, and share information and ideas. “Given these challenging times, it’s important to try and help our upstart and existing small businesses learn successful strategies to building a better bottom line,” Falk said. “This seminar will help women and minority entrepreneurs develop marketing plans to help them earn the most bang for their buck.” This free, small business seminar, entitled “Marketing Strategies on a Tight Budget,” will be held October 23, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Center, Exhibition Hall: Mendota 4, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way in Madison. The session is intended to help prospective or current business owners with the maze of marketing ideas--learning about potential pitfalls and learning marketing success stories. “Marketing Strategies on a Tight Budget” will be a panel presentation headed by Marian C. Walluks of MCW Productions, LLC. Those interested in more information about the seminar should contact Colleen Clark Bernhardt in the Dane County Office of Equal Opportunity at 608-266-3022 or at: clark.colleen@co.dane.wi.us. # # #
