Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk issued the following statement regarding today’s announcement that Dane County will be eligible for federal disaster aid in the wake of the February 5th and 6th snowstorm that dumped record snows on the area. “We are thankful for the assistance from the federal and state governments to help cover the costs incurred by the historic snowstorm that hit Dane County in early February. While we’re working to determine total costs from the multiple county agencies that responded to this storm, overtime expenses from plowing state and local roads that week exceeded $100,000. Given the significant costs from this winter this aid will certainly benefit Dane County taxpayers.” # # #
