County Executive Falk Announces On-Line Auction of Old Courthouse Furniture

Madison - As Dane County moves into its new courthouse building, the County will partner with the State of Wisconsin’s Surplus With A Purpose (SWAP) program to dispose of some of the remaining furniture in the City County Building. A thorough review was completed to determine what furniture could be moved to the new courthouse, and what could be reallocated to other departments in the City-County Building. The furniture being auctioned did not fit in either of those categories. “Partnering with the SWAP is a great way to auction off items we have extras of from the old courtrooms,” said Falk. One innovative approach will be an on-line auction held by SWAP for wooden benches and jury chairs in the old courtrooms. The auction will begin at January 9, 2006 and run until 10 PM on January 23, 2006. Interested bidders can access SWAP’s website https://mds.bussvc.wisc.edu/swap/home.asp.
