Dane County Scores Top Ratings for Finances

Investment Services Laud County’s Books, Issue AAA Bond Ratings Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk announced today the county has once again earned the highest financial ratings possible from two of the most prominent investment services firms. The “AAA” bond rating is the most prestigious designation in lending and is only granted to the highest quality, lowest risk bonds. Dane County received the “AAA” rating from Moody’s Investment Service and Fitch Ratings for a pair of bonds issued for capital improvement projects in Dane County. The distinction is especially notable given that Dane is one of only two counties in the state and a just a handful in the nation to earn the “AAA” rating. “This report card of the county’s fiscal health shows Dane County continues to be at the head of the class when it comes to managing taxpayers’ money,” Falk said. In its report to Dane County, Fitch said: “County finances are solid…the county administration is committed to enhancing social welfare and public safety programs while maintaining strong management practices that limit budgetary spending growth.” The Moody’s Investment report said: “Dane County is one of the fastest growing and most vital areas in the state. It also said: “Moody’s anticipates that the county will maintain sound financial operations due to conservative fiscal management and strong tax base growth.” # # #
