October 30, 2007
Darren Marsh, Parks Director, 224-3766 or Kevin Connors, LWRD Director, 224-3731

Starting Thursday, November 1, 2007, at 7:45 a.m., Dane County Parks will be accepting 2008 camping and shelter reservations using a new on-line Reservation System developed by the county: Website reservedane.com. Announcing the new service, County Executive Kathleen Falk stated: “This is a great new service for our patrons, one the public has requested and we are happy to deliver. It means citizens can register online and won’t have to call or drive to the Park Office to check facility availability and make reservations. In addition, online services save valuable time and resources for our county staff. ” With the new reservation system, patrons can browse the county park facilities to determine which campsite or shelter best meets their needs. Using a major credit card, patrons can reserve a campsite or shelter from wherever they have on-line computer access, then immediately receive an e-mail confirmation for services. Dane County Parks accepts reservation for facilities throughout the county including 30 shelters, ~150 campsites (50% reserve-able / 50% first-come, first-serve) in five family campgrounds and several group camp areas; for additional information on Dane County Parks see their website at www.countyofdane.com/lwrd.parks/. For information on an indoor rental facility please contact the Lussier Family Heritage Center located at 3101 Lake Farm Road, Madison, Wisconsin, 53711, (608) 224-3604, www.countyofdane.com/lwrd/parks/heritage/.
