How to spot a scam artist, successful online marketing and Internet sales are among the topics to be addressed at the free June 14 session of the Minority Business Development Series hosted by Dane County and area business groups. The June session, seventh in this series for minority group members new to business or considering a venture, will feature Deb Neubauer of The Financial Education Center and local entrepreneur/educator Lina Trivedi. All businesses also are welcome to attend. Neubauer will offer smart consumer tips to avoid scams and predatory loans. Trivedi, who teaches several business courses at Madison Area Technical College, will discuss how to expand a business with online advertising and sales. The Thursday, June 14, session will run from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, 706 John Nolen Drive in Madison. Spanish interpretation will be provided and refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. Dane County Office of Equal Opportunity, African American Black Business Association and the Latino Chamber of Commerce host the series. “This series offers valuable business education and an important venue for minority business owners to network,” Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said. ###
