Madison – Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today praised the Joint Finance Committee’s (JFC) action that funded a county grant program to allow community groups to develop alternatives to prosecution and incarceration for non-violent offenders. “Thanks to both the members of the Joint Finance Committee and Governor Doyle for placing a priority on drug and alcohol treatment for those who commit crimes,” said Falk. “In Dane County, we are working to be smart on crime so that offenders with drug and alcohol problems do not re-offend. The Governor’s and JFC’s funding this grant program will allow counties to continue these innovative programs that not only help those directly affected, but also make our whole community safer.” # # #
