County Executive Falk Announces 2004 Bicycle Path Program Grants

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today announced a total of $73,935 in county matching grants for 12 projects that improve bicycle paths or support bike activities in Dane County. “We have a great bike path system, and it just keeps getting better,” said Falk. “All over Dane County people use their bikes both for commuting and for recreation. These grants help communities with the bike projects they believe are most important to them.” The grants, which are administered by the Dane County Public Works, Highway and Transportation Department, were approved by the County Board’s Public Works and Transportation Committee Tuesday (October 27). Grants were approved for the Cities of Madison, Fitchburg, Monona and Stoughton, the Villages of Brooklyn, Belleville, Cottage Grove, Cambridge, Rockdale and McFarland, the Towns of Madison and Oregon, and Dane County Parks for a project in the Town of Springfield.
