Dane County Monitors Terrorist Alert Move to “Orange”

March 18, 2003
Sharyn Wisniewski (608) 267-8823

The Dane County Regional Airport and Dane County Emergency Management are monitoring the federal Homeland Security Office’s advisories in raising the level to High Risk of Terrorist Attack (Orange), Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said today. This is the second highest of five levels of risk. David Jensen, interim director at the Dane County Regional Airport, reports that DCRA’s security measures, as current standard practice, are already at the level required of an “orange” level alert. However, the Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the airport will be in more visible positions. Jensen said he expects to receive updated directives from the federal Transportation Security Administration later today. All Dane County public buildings will be operating as usual, with no additional security measures beyond normal practice.
