Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today sent the following memo to the Dane County Board of Supervisors, Dane County elected officials and department heads. Falk Dane County Executive RE: Budget Repair Legislation Currently, our Legislative Lobbyist and the Department of Administration are analyzing the effects of the recently-agreed on budget repair bill. I will share that information with you as soon as possible. Neither legislative house has acted but they are expected to do so by the end of this week. In light of the Governor’s broad partial veto power, I will not review the freeze on county spending until the Governor completes his action on the budget. As of this morning, he has not announced a timetable for his actions. I will review the freeze immediately after he acts. While the budget repair bill will offer serious fiscal challenges to Dane County, it is a significant improvement over the bill as originally introduced.
